The Lytro camera captures the entire light field allowing both the picture taker and the viewer to focus pictures after they're snapped.

You can browse and play with some pictures at their picture gallery. Click the background or the subject/foreground to change the focus:

Apparently to process and share your pictures, you have to download the Lytro Desktop Software [comes with the purchase] but only if you own a Mac. Future plan for Windows in store. Sadly no mention of Linux.
